This is barrier-island country, forty miles of keys stacked one after another with a bay behind each: Sarasota Bay behind Longboat and Lido, Roberts Bay and Little Sarasota Bay behind Siesta and Casey, Lemon Bay behind Manasota. The staining reads the way the water does, pale across the grass flats and bars inside the passes, darkening where Big Pass, Venice Inlet, and Stump Pass cut through to the Gulf.
No acrylic covers the UV series, so the cut shorelines sit bare under your hand, and the printed labels keep every key, bay, and pass legible at a size engraving could not manage.
