Chesapeake Bay Wood Carved Tide Clock
$ 84.00
Our Chesapeake Bay Tide & Time Clock is a one-of-a-kind way to celebrate life on the water. This 16.5” clock features a recessed, highly detailed nautical map of Chesapeake Bay, precision-cut from birch. The land is outlined in natural wood, while the surrounding water is hand-stained in a soft grey-blue for a timeless coastal look.
How a Tide Clock Works
Tide clocks track the tides rather than standard time. A lunar day lasts 24 hours and 50 minutes, and since there are two high tides per lunar day, tide clocks rotate every 12 hours and 25 minutes. The moon is the primary driver of tidal movement. Quartz tide clock mechanisms are ideal for the predictable tides of the Eastern United States and can be set using the next local high tide or adjusted monthly during a full or new moon.
We’re map enthusiasts at heart—so detail matters. Our tide clocks are designed to be some of the most accurate and visually detailed on the market.
