Lewisville is DFW's answer to needing a real lake: broad enough for serious sailing, structured enough for the tournament bass crowd that calls it an urban fishery with a straight face, and ringed with enough parks and beaches, Little Elm's shoreline chief among them, to absorb a metroplex summer. The Corps closed the dam in the 1950s and the drowned Elm Fork country beneath still shapes the fishing. On the chart, the old channels, roadbeds, and creek arms engrave the birch under the open water, the hidden map the locals pay their electronics to find.
Contours are laser-cut sheet by sheet, stacked by hand, engraved, and finished behind acrylic glass in a solid Baltic birch frame.
