Crystal River in laser-cut Baltic birch, 24.5 by 31 inches: the spring-fed bay where the manatees winter, carved one depth contour per layer from Kings Bay out to the gulf.
Kings Bay is fed by dozens of springs that hold 72 degrees year-round, and every winter hundreds of manatees crowd in to escape the chilling gulf, packing into Three Sisters Springs so densely the refuge sometimes closes the water to let them rest. This is the only place in the country where you can legally swim alongside them, a bucket-list morning that books out months ahead. Summer flips the calendar to scalloping on the grass flats offshore. On the chart, the springs' basins dimple the birch inside the bay while the river's engraved channel winds seven miles to open water.
Contours are laser-cut sheet by sheet, stacked by hand, engraved, and finished behind acrylic glass in a solid Baltic birch frame in Light or White.
